Australia’s most awarded and in-demand comedy and animation writer, Bruce has had his output consumed by a Who’s Who of local and international laughter, from Emmy-award winners Jason Alexander (Seinfeld) and Rich Hall (The Late Show with David Letterman) to       Noel Fielding, Adam Hills, Andrew Denton, Wil Anderson, Justine Clarke, Bette Midler, Paul McDermott, Doug Mulray, Raymond Crowe, Amanda Keller, Adam Spencer, Anh Do, Elle McFeast, Kamahl (!) and Artist Services’ and The Comedy Channel’s sketch comedy ensembles. He is about to commence Script Editing Season 3 of Kitty Flanagan’s award-winning Fisk.

Animation

Winner of the Australian Writers’ Guild Award for Animation in 2015 and 2013, and nominated in 2018, 2016 and 2014, Bruce’s primary writing focus these days is cartoon characters (although he does still write for comedians). Co-writer of the 2015 AACTA Awards Best Children’s Television Series, The Flamin’ Thongs – also winner of the 2014 Asian Television Awards Best 2D Animation Programme – he has close to 80 produced episodes to his credit, including multi-award-winning The Adventures of Figaro Pho, BAFTA-nominated Dennis The Menace & Gnasher, ATOM Awards-nominated Pirate Express, Winston Steinburger & Sir Dudley Ding Dong, Bottersnikes & Gumbles, Erky Perky, Alien TVThe Wild Adventures of Blinky Bill, and Spongo, Fuzz & Jalapeńa. He is currently working on Ginger & The Vegesaurs for ABCKids in addition to new series in development with Vishus Productions (Owl Riders), Big Serious (Goo Zoo) and Cheeky Little (Rock Bottom).
